iOS 7

 Hello,
My lovely blog readers!
Oh, my.... it has been so long since I have been on here! I am SO sorry, with school I just have been really busy with homework, friends, homecoming week, everything, but I am very happy to be writing this! If you haven't noticed by the way I talk/type this is Alyssa! I am the one of the two of us that has a 5th generation iPod, so last night I updated my iPod... My thoughts? I hated it, all of it! That was my first impression, but then I got looking around a bit, and tried everything out, overall i'm pretty happy with it, I guess.

Here are a few things I enjoy about iOS 7

1. ITunes Radio- I am VERY happy about the ITunes Radio, it is such a great feature, I am going to use it all the time! Not only do I get to listen to songs I love for free, but it also plays songs similar to songs I already like! It is like Pandora, so yes, it has ads too! You can search playlists by artist or song and it will come up with a playlist of songs. Usually when I search for a playlist by an artists name there are only 2 songs actually by that artist and the others are of similar genre. In my opinion it is a great feature!

2. Lock screen/In-app control panel- I love the fact that I can change, pause, fast forward, or rewind songs from almost any app or location on my IPod! Also, I can turn on/off WiFi, Airplane mode, Bluetooth, AirDrop, and Do not disturb from the panel! Adjusting brightness is nice, because I always turn up/down the brightness depending on where I am/ how bright it is, and its annoying to have to close out of an app, go to settings, go to brightness, then close out of settings, and open the app again... -_- yeah. Now there is no need for a flashlight app, because it is right there whenever you need it! Other useful features are a calculator, alarm clock/timer, and the camera app!

3. The "Double-Click" of the home button- This is really nice, its almost like a history type thing, it allows you to move back and forth between apps without having to close your app, find your other app, open it, then close it, find your other app and then open it again! It just saves so much time! Also, if you're like me and get off-track easily then end up forgetting what you were doing before, you can look through it to find what you were doing!

4. The Photos app- I love the new part of this app that allows you to see when the picture was taken/saved! I have been wanting this for a long time, because I am a person who is big on remembering everything I possibly can! I love taking picture "evidence" of things I do because what if one day I forget everything, how will I know who my friends are, what my favorite thing to do is, how will I remember what my makeup looked like August 19th 2013? I wouldn't :(  The last one was a pathetic example, but you get what i'm saying.. hopefully.

There are a few other features I also enjoy... here are a few things I don't like about iOS 7

1. Apps designs- Okay, I REALLY hate how the new apps look, they are way too "Cartooney" and Bubble-like for me! I really liked the old designs a lot better...

2. Music app- It took me a while to figure out where everything was/ how it worked!  I couldn't figure out how to make it just repeat one song, and it was just really confusing at first! Also, I very strongly dislike the white design on the music "Border". I have always preferred the dark look to the music stuff, but now everything is white, even the par that shows the battery, and I really don't like it at all.

3. Automatic downloads on unwanted items- When I updated my IPod it added songs, tv shows, and a movie that I had hand picked NOT to be on my IPod... so, I had to go through all my songs, tv shows, and a movie to delete all the stuff I had already deleted before -_- I didn't want it there for a reason!!!!!!!!!

So, yeah. I don't know if I like it better than iOS 6, I was really surprised when I looked at my IPod for the first time after the update, it felt like (and still does) I had a completely new IPod. I think it may just be that my 4th generation IPod, and my 5th generation IPod were so similar that I just got so used to it being that way for about 3 years! With time I will get used to it, and It will become normal! Overall, I like it.
