Tips for warding off cold/freezing weather!

Hey Beauties!
Today.. since Froot Loop is busy i will be doing a somewhat longer helpful post.
If you don't already know. its winter time and its super cold!
For those of you that live in California.. LUCKY! or somewhere warm.. you don't need to worry but these will help my up north ladies and people that just are stuck in cold weather.. and need help!!!

This is a face moisturizer for all skin types.
. lol you can probably read that
This would be G-REAT for people with super dry skin.. for face im sure.. but all of these are great choices and hopefully help you get over the winter skin problems
Number 1!- This may or may not be already obvious but you NEED and i repeat. NEED! To find a heavy freaking duty moisturizer.. not only for your body.. but your face needs some loving too. The winter air is cold, and really dries out your skin making it red, chapped, and flaky. An overnight thicker moisturize right after you get out of the shower.. go to bed and wake up with soft skin. And.. when your skin gets dry it isn't as glowy, so make sure to moisturize whenever you can. Hands, feet, arms, legs, face, and i personally get dry patches on my eyelids.. Weird? Probably .. here are some moisturizers for different skin types...

This line personally works really well on my skin.. for my face, body and hands.. i really like it and i purchase it  for yes. only a dollar!!!

Number 2- Always stay bundled up. Always wear a coat, and mittens.. if you have a hood wear that up.. i personally think my hair does a fine job of covering my ears and such(: If you are going to be outside a lot.. be prepared.. it will get cold so have layers. This can really affect your skin.. the health of your hair. If YOU are cold.. it is wearing down on your hair.. nails.. skin.. just stay warm.. OK?

Number 3!- Your skin can get dull as i said and really moisturizing your face will can help with the glowiness of your skin and if you look healthy and awake. But if that isn't doing the trick, try using a highlighter. Liquid or powder.. dusting it on the high points of your face.. cheekbones, bridge of your nose and forehead.. but be aware some highlighters with lots of shimmer/even glitter, can make some people look oily.. try to find one that is just in between so you can have healthy radiant skin all year round.. here are some that i have heard are good! Even using a champagne eyeshadow.. lets say Urban Decay bootycall for highend and for drugstore NYC ellis island eyeshadow, use sparingly depending on the pigment. And some will go for a matte highlighter to look more natural.. totally fine. Both work just as good. There is probably more high end options than drugstore.. an OK one, not my favorite would be the ELF shimmering facial whip.. only $1.00

Number 4- Since you are pretty much stuck inside unless you live somewhere warm, you are probably getting bored.. don't have much to do and feel sluggish and bloated.. because you don't get any exercise. Well if you want to get a workout, just join a gym. Joining a gym is good any time of the year, but especially when you can't go outside.. so why not work out inside! You can burn off steam, maybe find something you love to do and have fun, and even burn some calories in the process. Anything where you are using your body for something proactive. Like using a bike, or a treadmill.. makes you feel like you are walking. But you don't have to bear the cold. Maybe you can even find a better activity, like rock climbing inside, lazer  tag, so you are having fun and still getting a workout! Not many pictures to show here..

Number 5!- In the winter time i am always looking for something to eat. just because i am inside all the time. Im hungry! So what can i eat that won't be too bad for me, nourish my body, but still make me warm, and satisfy my hunger..? Well in the mornings my house is really cold, so i like to eat a bowl of oatmeal.. i know this may not be everyone's choice, but just give it a try. I LOVE oatmeal and always have.. it really does fill you up! Blueberry muffin oatmeal is really super yummy, and so is plain oats, so you can personalize it to what you fancy that day(: Another good option is maybe a hot chocolate, not the BEST choice but if you make it yourself, not out of a mix, but with dark chocolate cocoa powder, lowfat milk, and add some other toppings.. it will make you warm and fuzzy while still making you feel like you had a dessert.

Number 6-- When i go to bed at night, we turn our heat down pretty low, no matter how cold it is. So it gets pretty cold. When i am laying in bed.. i just feel lonely, who knows why.. i feel like im trapped in my house, im cold, i don't know what to eat.. and i just feel crappy. I think a good thing to do in the winter is have a spa night. Make a nice hydrating mask out of some ground up oatmeal... lots of good benefits for your skin, honey, some soy milk to refresh your skin, and yogurt. You probably will want to eat this..but i would try and just leave in on your face. It will refresh your skin, make you feel pampered (stupid word) and help you relax. Another double thing i like to do is after i get ready to lay down, i like to put a pair of fuzzy socks on.. Any kind is just fine, but a pair of nice warm pretty patterned fuzzy socks. And then i slather lotion all over my feet. Any deep thick lotion is fine.. Your feet are warm and they are moisturized at the same time. Get a big thick blanket.. turn on some music, spray some perfume (i always do this.. it just helps me sleep) and go to sleep. zzzzzzzzzz

Number 7!- This is a huge problem for me.. i really have dry chapped lips and so does Frooty. Now some people when its cold and their lips dry out, they lick their lips (mostly little kids) do you remember when you used to get that red ring around them? Well i do.
So anyways you need to stop licking them first of all. Thats the first point im making today.
You think because they hurt and they are dry you should moisten them and get them to stop being cracked but the cold winter air seriously is a monster and will just take advantage of your weakness and dry your lips and crack them.
Your lips are flaky, cracked, bleeding, dry, ugly..
USE A LIP SCRUB!!!!!!!
You can either buy one, there is some from LUSH.com
Or you can make your own.
I made mine with honey, and sugar and maybe some water.. Just rub some on your lips and rub them around.. this will take of the dry skin, and have them feeling smooth in no time. Right after, use a chapstick, lip balm whatevs. A thick heavy duty sucker for winter.
Vaseline makes really awesome ones i prefer the cocoa butter one.
Jack black, another good one.,
A lighter version, EOS  lip balms.
And one more.. rose salve from BBW (smells good and i don't even like roses)
Just keep reapplying. Now don't get addicted like i am.. that actually hurts your lips, doesn't let the skin reproduce properly..And also,  if you want to get your lips back in "Shape" but still want to not look dead,, you can always use a tinted lip balm, that moisturizes while giving your lips a faint color.

And then when you want to rock your red lipstick.
You are now ready(:

Thats all for now..
Hopefully this helped you combat the winter (air, cold, everything about winter?!;)..
I worked really hard on this post so hopefully it was helpful? Yes.. no? TELL US!!!!!
Love you guys!!!
